Het Pannekoeckershuys

It’s Friday afternoon and a gorgeous day outside at 66 degrees with the sun shining and a slight breeze.  A perfect day to take the girls to a special pancake house that I know.

I know of this place because right next door is a house we almost rented.  We ended up deciding against it due to it being very isolated in a country setting and being a bit over our budget.  But it’s a beautiful home.

Back to the pancake house….besides serving ‘sweet’ pancakes, they also serve ‘savory’ ones.  Along with beer and ice cream.  My kind of place!!

It is a very family and kid friendly establishment.  I mean, what kid (and parent) doesn’t like pancakes and beer, with ice cream for dessert?!  The girls tried a plain sweet pancake (babysteps!) and I had a savory Holland pancake.  Both were delicious!!

As for drinks – we stuck with Chocomel and Cola this time!  😉  And I got an English menu, just to make sure I knew what I was ordering!

The interior of this place is as cool as the outside.

And when I was here earlier this summer, I had no idea it is as big as it is!  The kids get tokens when they order a kid’s meal, and more tokens if they order ice cream for dessert.  With these tokens, they can go to the “gift shop” and buy whatever they have enough tokens for!

Littlest went with a slinky and a pop toy, and Oldest went with a bag of Marbles (didn’t get a picture of that).

They also have a playground down below.  So of course if you are a kid – you take the slide down to get to it.  And they have a climbing wall, a little cave that has cartoons playing, a play structure, and several other cool rooms where kids can use their imagination!

So if that wasn’t enough fun to keep the kids entertained for hours, they have a huge outdoor playground with all kinds of things to play on.  Slides, forts, trampolines, mazes, a digger, pedal carts, and new since this summer (they were building it last time I was here in June) – mini golf!  Just great outdoor fun.

What can be better than sitting in the patio relaxing while your kids are off having their own fun?!  Perhaps it is best we didn’t get the house next door – I’m not sure I could ever pull the kids away from this awesome place!
